Les Whiddet, Vice President One

Les Vice President 1I have lived in the area for over 25 years, seeing many changes to our rural lifestyle. The coming of the freeway, the Mandurah line and now the encroachment of suburbia. We go on to face new challenges with the arrival of Honeywood.

I myself am actively involved in many of our local groups and clubs. Including that of the Wandi Landcare, Marquetry Club and the Wandi Wood Turners.

Fred Erdtsieck, Vice President Two

Fred Vice President 2I moved to Wandi in 2002 when house prices were still affordable for people like myself. I was working in the pearling industry at the time in the Cook Islands. The work has dried up so I'm keeping myself occupied growing vegies, keeping bees and writing web sites. I am actively involved in the community being a member of the WPA, the coordinator of the Wandi Landcare Group and a fire fighter in the local bushfire brigade stationed in Mandogalup.

Janet Carr, Secretary

Janet our SecretaryI was an elected member of the committee from 2002 to 2006 and again in 2010 and 2011. Currently I am the secretary. I joined the WPA shortly after moving into this area to find out what was happening here and to make new friends. I have been to Co-ordinator of the Wandi Clean Up Australia event in 2010 and 2011. I enjoy being involved in the various Landcare activities and appreciate the opportunity to spend time with like-minded people.

Jim Russell, Committee Member

Jim Committee 3I have lived in Wandi for 24 years and still love the special rural lifestyle as much now as when we moved here all those years ago. Whilst the encroachment of "urban" concerns me my feeling is that whilst development is inevitable we must protect the Wandi bushland as much as we can. My role with the WPA is as editor of the Wandi Warbler.

Wayne Tentori, Committee Member

Wayne Committee 7We moved out to Wandi in 2008 to get away from suburban high density living. Best move we ever made. I am a real city-slicker, not used to a rural lifestyle, but I am learning all the time and enjoying it 100%. I have a keen interest in woodworking and have become a member of the local Triton club. I'm also a Volunteer FireFighter with the Mandogalup Bushfire Brigade. In the last two years I have seen a lot of bushland devestation from fires. However, as a Landcare member I've seen the beauty of the bushland and have had opportunities to attend events, plantings and workshops which helps me take care of some bushland and help with its rejuvenation. Oh, and I also work full time as a database administrator for the Education Department.

Robyn Marschner, Committee Member

Robin Committee 8I moved to Wandi with my husband Shane Addis around 10 years ago. We have seen quite a lot of change in this time, and it is lovely to see local community interest increase as time goes on and the Wandi infrastructure increases. We have always enjoyed the rural life here, and I also have a keen interest in the equestrian aspect of Wandi living. Shane has in the past been an active Wandi Progress Association member and has also served a stint as Treasurer of WPA. My professional background is in Organisational Psychology. Currently I am concentrating on raising our two young daughters, and I hope that they will appreciate the special environment that is Wandi.
