Welcome to the Wandi Progress Association Web Presence

The Wandi Progress Association is dedicated to managing the Wandi Community Centre facilities and as an arbitrator / go-between for concerned Wandi residents on issues that concern the Town of Kwinana and other Entities. Residents are asked to join the Wandi Progress Association to build its member base and consequently its real representation of the wishes of the Wandi , Honeywood and Anketell Communities. If you wish to join up, an application form can be found under the Resources menu. The Wandi Community Centre complex is comprised of the Magenup Equestrian Centre and the Wandi Community Centre facilities, the Wandi Hall, Clubrooms, Resource Centre and the Shed. Tennis Courts, free BBQ's and a Playarea can also be found at the Wandi Community Centre. There is a maintained oval that can be reserved and is used by Caravan Clubs One and Two and the Medieval Clubs.

Seen a Crime or Suspicious Behaviour? Well now you can report it on the Crime Watch page located in the Resources Menu. There is a form where you can upload your information and evidence and it will be added to the page listings. Burnout hoons, litterbugs, vandals, thieves and suspicious activities should all be reported so as to keep everyone informed.

The Wandi Community Centre is home to many different and varied groups. In the woodworking category there is the Wandi Wood Turners, the Southern Distrcts Triton Club, the WA Carvers Guild, the Scroll Saw Club of WA, the Marquetry Society of WA and the Wood Turners Association of WA.

There are Medieval Clubs that use the facilities and the oval, Abertridwr and Dragon's Bay. Assorted clubs using the facilities are Smithy's Boxing, Hope Valley Dance Group, Wandi Playgroup, and Perth New Beginnings Social Club.

The President's Report

Rod Pattinson President

Another year has almost past, Christmas is almost upon us and we have a new year to look forward to. The WPA committee wishes everybody a happy and safe holiday period.

Reflecting on the year the committee has been active on all Wandi residents’ behalf, bringing up residents issues of concern with council and of course attempting to nurture and keep the wonderful environment we live in as pristine as possible in a time of change for the area.

The increased use of the resource center by further groups really reflects the time and effort put in by the committee and in particular Rod and Debbie Cocks along with Janet Carr. It is quite amazing the work that goes on in the background to ensure the smooth running of the facility.

Our affiliated Wandi Landcare Group also has done sterling work over the year under the strong leadership of Fred Erdtsieck. This group really “puts back” into Wandi improving our bush to a point where hopefully it will be protected from urban development. It is really a “jewel” in what is now a central point in the Perth sprawl. So what for 2012, of course we have our 25 year anniversary which we will celebrate later in the year. Also hopefully we will receive the grants that have been applied for in respect of the new multipurpose facility and work will get underway on this by the end of the year.

We finally welcome the new residents from Honeywood and hope that they will enjoy the “country retreat” here in Wandi as much as the present residents do. Best Regards from the Wandi Progress Association
